There’s an interval session that I put in the training plan of many runners of all levels. It’s one of my favourites for the first part of a training cycle when you’re just getting into your plan, but it’s also great for those who are new to interval training too.It asks you to focus on how the effort feels rather than aiming for a specific pace which is great for every level of runner.
The session
This is how you do the session:
After 10 mins easy running to warm up, do
1 min ‘fast’, 1 min walk, 1 min ‘easy’
Repeat for 4-8 times.
Finish with 10 mins easy running.
