Wouldn’t it be lovely to turn up to a race feeling confident, happy and chill every time we pin a number to our vest? For many of us, pre-race nerves are something that we have to deal with on race morning and even in the days and weeks leading up to a race. For me, pre race nerves can range from a little flutter of butterflies to a full-on meltdown and tears. They have had me questioning why I even race because feeling anxious for several hours isn’t a nice feeling.

Over time, I think I’ve got better at dealing with pre-race nerves. Though they haven’t gone away completely. These are some of the methods I use to deal with them.
