The summer holidays are fast approaching and I’ve been looking at my training plan with conflicted feelings. When you’re trying to juggling competing demands on ever decreasing hours in the day, something has to give and often the thing that get cut is the run or the trip to the gym.
I work four days per week for a charity, then another day for Women’s Running online, plus freelancing as columnist, coach and Reviews Editor for Women’s Running magazine. So that all adds up to around six days per week of working. I’m lucky that I get to work from home, so I squeeze that sixth day into the pockets of time when I would otherwise be on a train or in a car driving to an office. But sometimes, when deadlines loom, it spills over into the weekend.
