There are lots of good reasons to run when you’re on holiday and I personally love it. It’s a chance for some alone time on a which can be welcome when you’re spending 24 hours a day with your family, and an opportunity to see a different side of the place you’re visiting. It can be a little trickier to navigate than your usual running schedule and routes back home, so here are a few tips.
When not to run on holiday
I love running and doing it on holiday is something that adds to my experience and helps me switch off. But it’s not for everyone and guilt isn’t a good reason to train on holiday. If you don’t fancy running around and would prefer to be relaxing by the pool, you do that.
Some countries aren’t really that conducive to good running though. It’s often hotter when we’re on holiday making running more difficult and we’re less familiar with the terrain, and we may have safety concerns. Don’t feel bad if your runs don’t happen.
